Rain on porcelain and concrete.

An artistic exploration of how two cultures and social classes connect, highlighting their different views on the often-overlooked aspects of nature while fostering understanding and learning.

This project takes Zhang’s practice of illustration that plays on the composition and natural forms and blends it with Batty’s practice of creating floral displays from the plants growing locally in the spirit of Chāhuā (flower arranging – commonly name by it’s Japanese name, Ikebana).

We acknowledge the Bidjigal and Gadigal People as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work.
We pay our respect to their Elders past and present.
